manager quits

Well, in light of all the many horrible things that we’ve been hearing about Britney lately, now, her manager, Jeff Kwatinetz has quit, her lawyer has quit and her bodyguard had a few things to say. Here is Hollywood Rag’s article.

Britney Spears’ manager has quit.

Jeff Kwatinetz, chief executive officer of management company The Firm, announced he would no longer be representing the troubled singer on Monday, citing “current circumstances” for his decision.

A statement released by The Firm said: “It saddens us to confirm media reports that we have terminated our professional relationship with Britney Spears.

“We have represented Britney for the past month. We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a terrific record. But current circumstances have prevented us from properly doing our job.

“We wish Britney the best.”

Britney - who split from her long-term manger Larry Rudolph in April this year following her stint in rehab - hired Kwatinetz to help engineer her career comeback.

However, despite initially receiving favorable feedback about her new single ‘Gimme More’, she failed to impress critics with her disastrous lip-synched performance at the MTV Video Music Awards two weekends ago.

Kwatinetz - who previously represented Kelly Clarkson - was the second person to leave Britney’s team on Monday.

Hours earlier, the singer’s lawyer Laura Wasser announced she was quitting following a custody hearing concerning Britney’s children with husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

Meanwhile her former bodyguard has claimed Britney took drugs in front of her young sons.

Tony Barretto - who was fired by the ‘Toxic’ singer in May - also alleges Britney paraded around naked in front of Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

The minder - who said he was so appalled by Britney’s neglect of her sons he felt compelled to speak out - made his allegations in a signed statement to a Los Angeles court yesterday.

Barretto’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, said: “My client’s statement detailed concerns regarding nudity by Miss Spears, drug use and the safety of her children.

“Mr. Barretto had been in her home, driving Miss Spears to her appointments and observed her behaviour to her children.

“He became very concerned about the children and their safety. Although he was reluctant to come forward and become embroiled in her custody dispute, he felt he had to because of his concerns about the children.”

Allred, who is also representing Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline, revealed Britney’s legal team did not cross-examine Barretto over his statement, so the claims remain undisputed.

After the hearing, Britney’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, announced she was quitting but refused to reveal why.

Britney, 25, is currently fighting Kevin for custody of their two boys.

The couple - whose divorce was finalised in July - were originally granted joint custody of Sean and Jayden but Kevin claims Britney’s recent erratic behaviour shows she is not a fit mother.

Neither Britney or Kevin attended the hearing.
